Tuff Bandit focuses on telling stories of resilience and is made to make everyone feel represented. Stories and people that inspire me will always be the center of these collections, and when brainstorming for our third drop, "Working Class Heroes", we wanted to make sure that was reflected in the clothing as well as the imagery. We partnered with Invisible Majority to bring this vision to life as this platform, created by Zahra Siddiqui, focuses on amplifying BIPOC faces and stories through photography and mixed media art. The Invisible Majority aligns with brands and organizations focused on social change and empowerment. This collaboration was a beautiful opportunity for Zahra and Sandy to create a photo series, of Toronto’s Working-Class Heroes and share the stories of real people in the City who impact our lives daily. The goal of this collaboration is to engage people through these photos and evoke questions, to wonder why we focused on these groups of people and to be conscious of those humans who add so much value to the world but are treated as though they’re Invisible. I often think about where I would be had my parents not immigrated to Canada, I wouldn't be doing what I am doing now, and I know that is a reality for many of us.
Join me in honoring our Working Class Heroes.
